The holy Shab-e-Qadr or Lailatul Qadr, superior to thousand nights as per the holy Quran, is set to be observed Thursday night through offering special prayers for wellbeing of the Muslims.
The Muslims believes that the first verses of the holy Quran was revealed upon Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on this night to show the mankind the path of worldly and eternal salvation.
It is considered as the night of fortune and forgiveness as the angels and the spirit descend on earth by the permission of Almighty Allah.
President M Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Leader of the Opposition Begum Raushan Ershad greeted the countrymen and the Muslims across the world on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Qadr.
In separate messages they prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country and the Muslim Ummah.
The Islamic Foundation will organize a waz mahfil (sermon session) and milad mahfil at Baitul Mukarram on the occasion.
